Inkscape on Windows 11 — Install, Setup & Fixes
Inkscape 1.4.4 runs fully on Windows 11. Covers installation, HiDPI display scaling, HAGS GPU acceleration, hybrid GPU laptops and fixes for common Windows 11 issues.
Does Inkscape work on Windows 11?
Yes — Inkscape 1.4.4 is fully compatible with Windows 11. The same 64-bit MSI works on both Windows 10 and 11. No separate build needed.
HiDPI / 4K display scaling
Windows 11 often defaults to 125% or 150% scaling — non-integer values cause blurry Inkscape UI.
- Set Windows scaling to 100% or 200%
- Inkscape: Edit → Preferences → Interface → User interface scaling — match your DPI
Override DPI handling
Right-click inkscape.exe → Properties → Compatibility → Change high DPI settings → Override: Application.
GPU acceleration on Windows 11
All Windows 11 GPUs (DirectX 12) support Inkscape OpenGL. Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling:
Settings → Display → Graphics → Change default graphics settings → HAGS: On
Hybrid GPU (Optimus laptop)
NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings → inkscape.exe → High Performance GPU.

.svg files not opening in Inkscape
